TELL ME

Originally titled Falling this song started life back in 1999 as an ALEX ZEPHYR (Zeph) solo project, before being used by her former band TICK-TOCK-TICK.

Well, now it is on its third outing with ZEPH, courtesy of tetratum! Tell Me addresses the issue of lies and deceit from all areas of life: advertising, politics, work colleges, a biased media industry. We are influenced by what the world around us tells us, so much so that often we make decisions or believe something to be true based only on what we are told to be the truth. Seldom it is the truth, rather more likely someone manipulating us all for their own selfish ends.

LYRIC'S

Its a funny world that I live in

Everybodys on the take but no ones giving

The guilty always get away with it

Whilst the innocent get the blame for it

My head is being pumped with deception

Lyin and cheatin being the main conception

CHORUS

Tell me! Tell me please

Tell me, am I wasting my time

Tell me what is going on in your mind

Tell me! Tell me! Tell me please?

Tell me! Tell me! TELL ME!

Its a funny world its such a fake

Can no one be honest for goodness sake?

TV ads say their products the best

The justice systems lost its ultimate quest

Politicians say what they want me to hear

So to guarantee my vote next year

CHORUS

Tell me! Is it all an illusion?

Tell me! What is your conclusion?

Tell me! Whats going on in your mind?

Tell me ! Tell me! Tell me please.

Tell me! Tell me! TELL ME!

My head is being pumped with deception

Lyin and cheatin being the main conception

Politicians say what they want me to hear

So to guarantee my vote next year

Images of subterfuge fill up my brain

Its a funny world that I inhabit

And Im beginning to loose the taste for it

Law and order is at an all-time low

I shouldnt be trusting everyone I know

Images of subterfuge fill up my brain

So whos the one to blame?

CHORUS
